Human Resources Generalist
Overview: The Human Resources Generalist supports the daily operations of the Human Resources department by managing a variety of Human Resources functions and administrative including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, training, and benefits administration. This role is essential in ensuring that Human Resources policies and procedures align with legal standards and company goals. The Human Resources Generalist is also responsible for drafting templates for Human Resources documents, ensuring clarity and consistency across all Human Resources communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately calculate and complete the weekly contractor payroll sheet
- Answer employees' questions regarding their pay and resolving discrepancies, errors, or concerns.
- Review the weekly insurance denial report and take appropriate action so that claims and be resubmitted
- Prepare retraction reports
- Collaborate with the Billing Consultant resolve insurance claims
- Foster a collaborative and respectful work environment.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and supportive workplace culture.
- Show flexibility and adaptability in response to changing needs.
- Demonstrate personal and professional integrity
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, operating ethically to protect the assets and image of the company.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed to support One Care DC business operations.
Payroll and Benefits Administration
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Address employee payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.
- Oversee employee benefits programs, assisting employees with inquiries and enrollment.
Data Management
- Record data on employee transfers and changes affecting wages, such as exemptions and insurance coverage, for accurate payroll updates.
- Monitor and maintain eligible salary adjustments based on performance evaluations.
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Create a recruitment plan and calendar based on operational and sales projections.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources team to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new employees, including developing onboarding plans and educating newly hired employees on Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Assist in job posting, resume screening, and participate in interviews as needed.
Performance Management
- Evaluate employee performance and recommend adjustments to pay scales based on one-year evaluations.
- Assist Business Unit Managers and Supervisors with performance review processes, coaching, counseling, and terminations.
Human Resources Administration
- Draft templates for Human Resources documents, including offer letters, appointment letters, salary slips, and warning letters.
- Maintain physical and digital files for employees, including benefits and attendance records.
- Ensure the Human Resources Information System (Human Resources IS) is maintained and utilized effectively.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Human Resources Generalist or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Human Resources practices, labor laws, and compliance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Human Resources software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills
- Ability to enter data accurately and efficiently into computer software and systems.
- Need to have a strong grasp of basic mathematical principles.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Google Sheets.
- Attention to detail is a necessity.
