One Day Doors & Closets is rapidly growing and seeking an experienced and results-driven Vice President of Operations to oversee and optimize our manufacturing and operational processes across multiple plants. As the VP of Operations, you will lead our manufacturing facilities, supply chain, logistics, and operational strategies to drive efficiency, quality, and profitability while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company meets its growth objectives and maintains its position as an industry leader.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership:
o Oversee daily operations of multiple plants, including production, quality, maintenance, safety, and logistics.
o Drive operational efficiency through effective scheduling, resource allocation, and process optimization.
o Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure achievement of production goals.
2. Team Management:
o Lead, coach, and develop department managers and staff to foster a high-performance culture.
o Ensure alignment between production teams and organizational goals.
o Manage workforce planning, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
3. Supply and Procurement:
o Oversee the procurement of raw materials and supplies to ensure uninterrupted production.
o Collaborate with the supply chain team to maintain inventory levels and negotiate with suppliers for cost efficiency.
o Develop relationships with vendors and resolve procurement-related issues.
4. Equipment Maintenance:
o Manage the plant’s equipment maintenance program to minimize downtime and ensure operational reliability.
o Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and address equipment issues promptly.
5. Logistics and Shipping:
o Oversee all logistics operations, including the efficient delivery of finished products to customers.
o Ensure the shipping process meets timelines and quality standards.
o Manage warehouse operations, including storage and inventory accuracy.
6. Customer Service and Product Support:
o Provide support for customer inquiries regarding product quality, order status, and delivery timelines.
o Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to ensure seamless communication and satisfaction.
o Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
7. Quality Assurance:
o Maintain high-quality standards for all products in compliance with company and industry standards.
o Identify and resolve production quality issues promptly.
8. Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure the plant operates in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
o Promote a culture of workplace safety and proactively address potential hazards.
9. Financial Management:
o Prepare and manage the plant’s annual budget, including labor, materials, and operational costs.
o Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining productivity and quality.
10. Process Improvement:
o Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
o Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate best practices into operations.
Qualifications:
· Experience: 7 years of manufacturing management experience, with at least 3 years in a plant leadership role, preferably in the home improvement or custom manufacturing sector.
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
· Skills:
· Strong leadership and team-building skills.
· Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
· Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
· Proficiency in ERP systems and data-driven decision-making.
