JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Teller receives and pays out funds, as well as accurately keeps records of money and negotiable instruments involved in a financial institution's various transactions. The Teller meets the needs of members by providing quality service.
Essential Functions

- Provide accurate, courteous, and timely professional service to existing and prospective members.
2. Receive checking and savings deposits: verify cash and endorsements, receive proper identification for cash back and issue receipts of deposit.
3. Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements and complete hold notices.
- Perform credit card cash advances, receive loan payments, and service charge payments as required.
- Process transfers between accounts and automatic distribution forms, recording all transactions according to member's request.
- Assist members by providing information and answering questions about the credit union’s services and requirements/eligibility while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and consumer privacy policies.
7. Refer members to the proper department for issues that cannot be resolved at the teller line.
- Issue personal money orders and cashier’s checks, accept orders and payment for U.S. Savings Bonds, process cash advances, and balance ATM.
- Balance a cash drawer daily and buy/sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded.
- Operate on line teller terminal, accurately record amounts received/disbursed, and prepare reports of transactions.
- Analyze member activity and cross sell other products/services to fit their needs.
12. Tactfully resolve member concerns & inquiries in a manner consistent with credit union values.
- Comply with BSA and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain knowledge of One Detroit Credit Union’s products and services, operational policies and procedures, by-laws, and philosophy.
15. Adhere to the credit union’s uniform policy and demonstrate professional, business like appearance.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This can be a full-time or part-time position. Full-time status must not exceed 40 hours per work week. Part-time status will consist of 25-30 hours.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Six months to 1 year of prior banking or customer service experience.
3. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
