Crop Production Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the success of One Floral Group's business. Reporting to the Senior Grower, this position will assist with all aspects of plant growth and development, including reviewing crop schedules, growing protocols, and best practices to grow crops on specs and standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review crop schedules, growing protocols, and best practices to grow crops on specs and standards
- Growing plugs, rooted cuttings, potted plants, field crops, and maintaining plants as instructed by the grower or senior grower while focusing on meeting specs and standards
- Providing assistance to growers in maintaining crops, controlling watering and irrigation systems, and implementing integrated pest management practices
- Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, recognizing and correcting unsafe conditions and practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture or similar field
- Experience in greenhouse operations is an asset
- Excellent communication and follow-through skills
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, showing initiative and good judgment
- Flexibility with schedule and ability to work extended hours during peak seasons
