What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Growth Specialist position at One Floral Group?
We are a fast-paced wholesale flower producer providing tailored floral solutions to retail customers throughout North America. Our business has over four million square feet of growing and production space in multiple facilities across three climate zones. We are seeking a highly motivated Plant Growth Specialist to join our team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Grow plugs, rooted cuttings, potted plants, field crops, and maintain plants as instructed by the grower or senior grower while focusing on meeting specs and standards
- Monitor and test fertilizer solutions and media pH, EC, and tank sampling, as well as fertilizer mixing
- Implement Integrated Pest Management practices directed by the Head Grower
- Continuously learn new plant varieties and their proper handling to ensure optimal growing conditions
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture or similar field
- Excellent communication and follow-through skills
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, showing initiative and good judgment
- Flexibility with schedule and ability to work extended hours during peak seasons
