What You Will Do
Assist management and stakeholders in assessing the ongoing status of its compliance with internal policies, procedures, and pipeline safety regulatory requirements. Conduct internal reviews of operational compliance activities to provide assurance that all requirements are met.
Facilitate inspections/audits of company regulatory practices.
Review and provide comments as requested regarding pipeline safety rules established by state and federal regulations pertaining to the Department of Transportation (DOT). Review and communicate operational practices in assessing their compliance with state, federal, and company requirements.
Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate regulatory compliance inspections; and document /report findings and results. Be the liaison between company management and the agency inspectors.
Advise /assist management in preparing for technical compliance audits / inspections.
Require use of corporate enterprise applications and execution of reporting, trending, and special queries
Review and interpretation of paper and electronic records
Participate and advise management with draft responses to state regulatory agency findings and Notifications of Probable Violations.
Coordinate and Participate mock drills and evaluate local the effectiveness executing emergency procedures.
Conduct, track, and trend regulatory inspections, and field quality assurance audits.
Research, advise, assess, report, and communicate information and recommendations related:
- Applicable state and federal pipeline safety regulations: DOT Regulations Parts 191 and 192
- Corporate procedures applicable to state and federal regulations
- Damage Prevention and Public Awareness Plans
- Emergency Response Plans
- Responses to Notices of Probable Violations
- Compliance Reporting
Research and provide recommendations on federal, state and company procedures.
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
What You Will Need
Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering or an equivalent combination of formal education and job related experience
Experience in multiple phases of distribution, underground storage, and transmission field and administrative responsibilities.
Working knowledge of piping standards and design; applicable operations standards; and corrosion control and odorization processes.
Experience with the application of math and algebraic formulas and statistics.
Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software.
Highly competent with Excel and advanced features such as Pivot tables, and logical statements
Build databases, reports and queries in Access and other similar systems
Proficient with all company enterprise applications (GIS, MAXIMO, BANNER)
Experience identifying, researching, evaluating and prioritizing problems or specific situations and coordinating appropriate action/response.
Experience reading and interpreting DOT regulations, Parts 191 and 192; Pipeline Safety Rules; Customer Service Field Manual; EPA regulations; and multiple other technical documents relative to governmental rules and regulations.
Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively.
Experience developing information and making presentations to groups and individuals.
Read and write fluently in English.
Applicable driver’s license.
Mobility to travel in and around plant and office facilities and around job sites out-of-doors.
Operate tools and equipment.
Able to communicate and exchange information; conduct oral presentations.
Visual ability to perform job responsibilities.
