Gastroenterology Associates of Tidewater is seeking a Medical Office Assistant Supervisor to join our team in Chesapeake, VA to help drive patient success in our community.
We are searching for a passionate Medical Office Assistant Supervisor to work Full Time in our Clinic, Monday through Friday. This position provides a great work - life balance as you will not have to work any nights or weekends! You may be required to travel and cover for our Virginia Beach location as well.

What you will do:
- Supervise employees.
- Make staff assignments necessary for adequate coverage.
- Arrange schedule to decrease overtime.
- Maintain practice site’s attendance records.
- Complete annual evaluations for staff.
- Discipline of staff including documented corrective action as needed.
- Interview and select top candidate for any open positions.
- Coordinate initial and ongoing training for employees.
- Delegate responsibilities and distribute workload among staff.
- Handle patient complaints and communicates complaints to administration.
- Responsible for smooth operation of the office equipment, organizes service an/or repairs as necessary.
- Notify housekeeping or maintenance as needed.
- Order supplies as necessary.
- Serve as liaison between physicians, other offices, and administration.
- Schedule patients for office visits, procedures, and other x-rays and tests as requested.
- Communicate with physicians regarding schedule changes.
- Process information to staff and be responsible for overseeing patient notification as required.
What you bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Two (2) years supervisory experience required.
- Previous medical office experience required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Able to travel and perform job duties at other practice sites. Must have reliable transportation.
