One Hat One Hand is a design and fabrication company specializing in architectural placemaking, large-scale public art, product prototyping and experiential design. We are looking for scenic and experienced millwork finishing professionals to help build our team!
Our team of designers, fabricators, artists, welders & technologists work with artisans and builders to create large-scale placemaking features, art fabrication and specialty installations. We collaborate with our clients every step of the way, taking pride in the talents and creative skills of our team. We work hard to produce seemingly impossible installations through thoughtful design, hands-on fabrication, and technology integration.
We are looking for skilled, dependable, professionals who are responsible for applying clear coats, paints, faux scenic treatments to get across the “finish line“ of our high-end, custom fabricated projects. Experience with mold making, casting, and sculpture would be a huge plus.

Scenic Painter / Finisher | ONE HAT ONE HAND
One Hat One Hand is hiring for a full-time highly skilled painter, finisher, & creative coatings magic maker!
We are looking for skilled, dependable, professionals with a wide range of skills in the finishing world. “Level 5” clear coating on museum pieces, faux finishes of every era and every uninvented style, mold making, and application on a wide range of substrates.
We are considering applications for both highly-skilled Cabinet/Automotive Finishers and Scenic Experts.
Our ideal candidate has:
- 5 years of industry experience
- Clear communication skills towards detailed collaboration
- Self starting and motivated, with a natural sense of urgency
- Loves creative problem solving
- Solution oriented in high pressure situations
Your position is on-the-floor, in the booth, & in the field.
Initially you will be added to the team on a project to project basis; however, we are always growing and are looking for someone we can build a long term relationship with. We would like to work toward offering a full time role to the right candidate.
Physical Demands / Environmental Factors
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Indoor warehouse environment with moderate - loud noise
- Outdoor work on occasion
- Understands the responsibility of protecting oneself and crew from hazardous/toxic materials by using safety equipment such as skin, eye, hearing and breathing protection.
