DESCRIPTION:
World renowned, 3-Star Michelin restaurant in San Francisco is seeking an intensely passionate, poised, and charismatic Wine Director to lead and oversee all aspects of the wine program. In this role you will: align with, support and follow the company vision. Oversee, lead and manage all areas of the wine program including menu curation, cellar management, inventory & cost control, staff education and leading wine service on the floor. The Wine Director will maintain guest and employee satisfaction, while consistently improving the image of the company and increasing revenue.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Beverage Program Management:
· Oversee all aspects of the wine program, including cost control, cellar organization, purchasing, and supplier relationships.
· Curate and maintain the wine list, pairing options, and by-the-glass selections.
· Provide wine service during evening shifts, assisting guests with selections and ensuring exceptional service.
· Mentor FOH staff on beverages, including wine, cocktails, beer, tea, and coffee.
· Lead the wine team (sommeliers and interns), fostering their professional growth.
· Lead and improve the wine and non-alcoholic training programs.
Leadership & Collaboration:
· Work with the FOH management team to deliver world-class service nightly.
· Participate in daily and weekly meetings to review menu changes, sales, costs, goals, and projects.
· Build strong relationships with suppliers and respond promptly to guest inquiries.
REQUIREMENTS:
· 2 years’ experience working with an award winning wine program.
· Depth of knowledge in Michelin and Wine Spectator award standards.
· Proven restaurant FOH managerial experience.
· Exceptional guest service and staff leadership skills.
· Strong multitasking abilities.
· In-depth knowledge of food and wine.
· Expertise in wine knowledge, pairing, and service.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and cost management.
· Excellent command of English; basic knowledge of wine-related languages.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
