Position Title: Woodshop OperatorSummary:
The Woodshop Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining woodworking machinery, tools, and equipment to produce quality wood products according to specifications. This role involves measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood materials while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation:
- Operate woodworking machinery such as saws, planers, routers, lathes, sanders, and CNC machines.
- Set up machines, adjust settings, and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Woodworking Tasks:
- Measure, cut, and shape wood materials to meet project specifications using hand tools and power tools.
- Assemble wood components using nails, screws, adhesives, and clamps.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Make necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Safety and Maintenance:
- Follow all safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Regularly clean workstations and maintain tools in good working condition.
- Collaboration:
- Work with designers, carpenters, and other team members to complete custom woodworking projects.
- Communicate effectively about project progress, timelines, and any challenges.
Qualifications:Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in woodworking or carpentry is preferred.
Skills:
- Proficiency in using woodworking tools and machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and stand for long periods.
- Comfortable working in a noisy, dusty environment while wearing protective gear.
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of wood properties and materials is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and techniques.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
Schedule:
