Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Northern Regional Facilities Manager, the Facilities Manager is responsible for managing the maintenance operations and compliance across assigned OHU locations. The position will primarily manage and complete maintenance tickets at assigned sites. They will also, as needed, scheduled and supervise facility modifications; coordinating vendors, contractors, government and other regulatory agencies as needed.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Facility Management
Manage and complete maintenance tickets using a computer-based ticket management system for the following sites:
Education:
AA or BA in related field preferred
Experience
Minimum five (5) years of related facility management/facility repair work preferred
Other
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with OHU required levels of coverage for auto insurance
Required Skills
The employee should be able to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, climb ladders, stand, and walk as needed to perform the job’s duties. Talking and hearing are frequently used. Hands and fingers are used to grasp, feel, push, and pull. The employee’s vision is used for operating equipment/machinery, analysis, inspection, and general observation.
The employee must be able to lift/move small to large objects that may reach an excess of 100 lbs. Depending on the task, the employee may be subject to abnormally high or low temperatures, tight spaces, loud noise, atmospheric conditions, weather conditions, and/or vibration. This position performs tasks that involve possible exposure to communicable diseases, blood, body fluids or tissues. Local and regional travel is occasionally required for this position.

Facility Management
- Pepper Dr. Hope House in Rockford, IL
- Guilford Hope House in Rockford, IL
- Zion apartment building in Zion, IL
- Emergency Shelter in Waukegan, IL
- Lake Villa Campus in Lake Villa, IL
- Other OHU sites as directed by Regional Manager/Director of Facilities
- Ensures compliance with internal, local, and federal guidelines and safety standards
- Ensures that properties focus on safety first – both for staff and clients
- Responds to physical plant emergences/outages: arranges short term and more permanent repairs
- Manages major facility moves or relocations as requested
- Assists other custodial/maintenance staff as need or requested
- Schedules site visits to complete safety checks and assess future facility needs of the location
- Manages multiple projects and timelines
- Organizes and maintains all relevant documents (Fire Drills, Logs, Licenses, Vehicles Maintenance, Site specific documents, etc)
- Serves as primary contact for utility vendors, landscaping, snow removal and any other site related vendor.
Education:
AA or BA in related field preferred
Experience
Minimum five (5) years of related facility management/facility repair work preferred

Required Skills
- Proficiency in general maintenance repair including windows, doors, wall repair, painting, light plumbing, light electrical, etc
- Proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and adaptive skills to expand software application skills as necessary
- Solid maintenance technical skills
- Ability to assess safety concerns and address them immediately.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications
- Ability to write routine reports and verbally communicate in a clear manner
- Excellent time management skills
- The ability to work in high stress situations
- Ability to exercise discretion and ensure confidentiality
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
