What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Supervisor position at One Hope United?
The Residential Supervisor is responsible for the daily management of a residential living environment; this living environment promotes the learning of skills for emotional, mental, and physical health; primary responsibilities include providing a healthy, safe, clinical, and structured environment, as specified in each youth’s Individual Treatment Plan and the OHU Residential Program Plan.
Job Duties Include:
Supervises a team of youth care workers as they perform duties associated with the day-to-day training, modeling, and skill-building of youth assigned
Supervises a team of youth care workers as they teach and participate in individual and group instruction in daily living, recreational activities, social skills, and independent living skills as prescribed by each youth’s Individual Treatment Plan and the OHU Residential Program Plan
Participates in continual training and maintains certification in the implementation of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency (ARC) and all other required training
Supervises staff as they follow the OHU Residential Program Plan, including daily schedule, trauma-informed care, and mental health treatment of youth in residential care
Demonstrates the highest investment in and commitment to quality improvement practices in order to improve the delivery of services to our residents continuously
Participates in a weekly Clinical Team Meeting of assigned residential home
Facilitates staff team meetings at residential home
Completes Behavior Management Plans for all youth of residential home
Participates in all Individual Treatment Team Meetings and Reviews, Additional Staffing, Transition, and Discharge Staffing
Attends training, seminars, and conferences as assigned
Completes, in a timely and accurate fashion, all documentation required for the position; approves all Medicaid Interventions of all supervised youth care staff
Completes all performance evaluations within specified time frames
Provides supervision to youth care staff of the assigned residential home, including all documentation of supervision
Schedules all youth care shifts for assigned home, managing leave and vacation and minimizing any overtime shifts
Responsible for an OHU credit card, coding, and submitting receipts
Performs on-call duties as assigned
Treats with absolute confidence all information concerning OHU residents and the program
Qualifications
Education
BA/BS degree in related and/or approved field and eligible for MHP status OR 5 years residential or other approved mental health experience required (in absence of BA/BS degree) MHP eligible.
2 years of college completed required.
Experience
5 years of residential or other approved mental health experience is required
Other
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with OHU required levels of coverage for auto insurance DCFS background check & approval to transport youth
Must be physically able to complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) restraint training
