Opportunity Summary
One Knoxville SC is seeking a motivated and self-starting individual looking to advance their career in professional athletic performance training. One Knox, a professional soccer club competing in USL League One, is focused on onboarding a performance lead who can manage and lead on all it’s performance-oriented aspects.
In addition to the First Team, One Knox includes an Academy team (Two Knox) and a Youth Club with over 1,000 competitive players. The One Knox Performance Coach will be tasked with building versions of fitness and dietary plans that can be implemented across One Knox’s developmental set up, by age group.
Requirements
- BS or higher in Sport Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Strength & Conditioning, etc
- Experience working in professional, NCAA, or MLS Academy structure
- CSCS certification
- Experience and proficiency using GPS technology such as StatSports
Daily Role & Responsibilities - First Team
- Design and execution of daily on-pitch warm-ups for training sessions, that align with the demands of the session, and the overall periodization of physical performance within the microcyle, mesocycle, and annual plan
- Design and execution of specific on-pitch conditioning sessions that address the overall workload management based on each player’s individual development plan, periodized to align with overall Annual Performance Plan
- Design and execution of individual prehab, movement prep & movement skill exercises for pre-training sessions
- Design and execution of individual/group strength & power programs, periodized to align with overall Annual Performance Plan
- Work collaboratively with medical staff to support programming and execution, both in the gym and on the field, for players returning from injury.
- Work collaboratively with medical staff to conduct any/all weekly fatigue monitoring protocols, using this information to recommend any specific modifications to individual training plans
- Report all GPS and workload data via Daily Training Reports, Weekly Training Reports, and Monthly Training Reports to Coaching Staff, Medical Staff, and key stakeholders
- Report any/all pertinent information from Strength & Power programs to Coaching Staff, Medical Staff, and key stakeholders
- Build effective working relationships with players to support buy-in and a collaborative view of performance development.
- Attend all important team/staff meetings pertaining to your role
Daily Role & Responsibilities - Academy / Youth Club
- Where applicable, a duplication of the First Team efforts in the Academy and Youth Club settings.
- Availability for information sessions with players and families around fitness, dietary guidance, and injury prevention
- Twice weekly attendance at Academy and/or Youth Club programming to provide active participation in the performance development of the Club’s youth offerings.
- Individualized S&C program creation for One Knox Youth prospects on the professional pathway. Tailored fitness and diet programs to maximize their development based on current age and build.
Match Day Role & Responsibilities
- Design and execution of pre-match activation sessions for starters, prior to warm-up
- Design and execution of daily on-pitch warm-ups for starters prior to kickoff, and the substitutes throughout the match
- In-match monitoring of players via GPS, etc
- Design and execution of post-match conditioning for substitutes, based on overall workload management of each player’s individual plan
Additional Qualities Desired
