POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
· Membership Program – The Manager/Director Membership Engagement & Events will assist the Executive Director with defining the membership program and growth strategy and be the primary owner of developing, implementing, and executing member solicitation and stewardship programs for the Collective’s fan membership program. This will include defining and administering membership program benefits and activities; creating solicitation materials and promotions; providing education on NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) fundraising policies and regulations and insights on the impact previous funding has made; tracking the progress of membership growth and activities; working with key stakeholders across the school, alumni base, and community to drive membership and retention; and providing strategic summaries for Collective and BPS leadership
· Events - Manage and oversee the setup and execution of events hosted by the One Maryland Collective; Develop and maintain positive relationships with student-athletes, coaches, school, conference, and third-party vendors; Develop and maintain knowledge of the college events space and trends within the rest of the sports industry; Provide guidance, collaboration, and management to event support staff; Design and develop tailored to the student athletes, alumni, and community priorities and preferences
· Events - Manage and oversee the setup and execution of events hosted by the One Maryland Collective; Develop and maintain positive relationships with student-athletes, coaches, school, conference, and third-party vendors; Develop and maintain knowledge of the college events space and trends within the rest of the sports industry; Provide guidance, collaboration, and management to event support staff; Design and develop tailored to the student athletes, alumni, and community priorities and preferences
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics, traits, and experience:
· Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university, University of Maryland alumni, and/or former student-athlete preferred but not required
· At least two (2) to three (3) years of experience in sports, consumer marketing, or B2B sales within media/agency/radio/TV sales, or talent representation
· At least one (1) to two (2) years of experience organizing and running events
· Demonstrated understanding of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) as it relates to the collegiate athletics space preferred but not required
· Proven track record of quickly developing and maintaining strong and lasting relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
· Possess a conscientious attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
· Demonstrate a high level of integrity and honesty and has a reputation as a person who always does the right/fair thing
· Be proactive and self-motivated by a will to achieve results and win
· Must possess an entrepreneurial mindset
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-level results
· Ability to work nights/weekends/sporting events and travel (<10%) as needed
· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite(s)
· Role is based in the One Maryland Collective offices located in College Park, MD
