What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Art Teachers - Long Island position at One River School of Art and Design?
One River School of Art Design is seeking highly experienced art teachers to deliver our fun and engaging curricula to students of all ages at our Long Island Schools. We have locations in Manhasset, Woodbury, and Port Jefferson. During the Summer (End of June to End of August) our main needs are for teachers from Monday to Friday during the hours of 9am and 6pm. In September, we will have needs that will include evenings and weekends.

About the Role:
As an Experienced Art Teacher in Long Island, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the artistic abilities and creative expression of students across various age groups. Your primary objective will be to deliver our engaging art curricula that inspire students to explore their creativity while mastering essential artistic techniques based on the work of living contemporary artists. You will foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to express themselves freely and confidently. Additionally, you will assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them grow as artists. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to cultivating a lifelong appreciation for contemporary art within the community.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience teaching art.
- Familiarity with various art mediums and techniques, including painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Art Education or a related field.
- Experience with digital art tools and technology integration in the classroom.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver our fun and comprehensive art lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and creativity.
- Assess and evaluate student work, providing constructive feedback to support their artistic development.
- Organize and participate in art exhibitions and community events to showcase student artwork and promote the importance of art education.
