Who Are We?
As an Area Agency, One Sky Community Services has provided services to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and acquired brain injuries for 38 years. We support 1,200 individuals and families throughout the seacoast.
What Will I Do?
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with diverse needs and abilities, providing essential care and assistance.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Support individuals with intellectual and development disabilities and/or traumatic brain injuries in integrated community settings.
- Tailor services and daily activities with consideration of the individual's needs, interests, competencies, and lifestyle as outlined in the individual service agreement (ISA).
- Provide structure and assistance to help the individual learn, improve, and maintain basic living skills, personal decision-making skills, social skills in the community, safety skills at home and community, rights and responsibilities and a healthy lifestyle.
- Assist the individual in securing volunteer and employment opportunities. Provide job shadow assistance on the job as required.
- Provide opportunities to become aware of community services and resources.
- Provide transportation to and from activities throughout the day.
- Complete daily notes, incident reports, and monthly progress reports as assigned.
- Attend individual service agreement meetings, team meetings, and medical appointments with the individual as assigned.
- Attend all supervision meetings and staff meetings as assigned.
- Perform duties to reflect family policies and procedures.
Position Requirements:
- Two years' experience in intellectual disabilities and/or acquired brain disorders, or Direct Support work. If the applicant does not have this experience, 16 hours on the job training will be required.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- GED or High School Diploma.
- Good driving record.
- Clear BEAS check.
- Clear BDS Criminal History Check, exclusion may apply.
- Clear OIG check.
- Clear NSOPW check.
- Two satisfactory professional references.
- SOLVE/MANDT/CPI certifications if required by the family supervisor.
Candidates should be willing to submit background checks; please allow a few weeks for background checks to process before the start date.

Pay: $24.00 per hour
