What are the responsibilities and job description for the Non-Medical Respite Care Volunteer position at One Source?

Respite care is often included in long term health plans but insurance will often not cover the cost. All of One Source - Empowering Caregivers services are free, making respite care available to those that need it most! Through volunteering with us you would have a positive impact on an in-home caregiver in our area by spending time with their loved ones allowing them to have some time to themselves. We serve the Nevada County area but with the addition of new volunteers we do hope to expand our services to neighboring areas.
We need volunteer help with :
- Respite Services to In-Home Caregivers
- Peer Support Groups
- Resource Referrals
- Community Outreach
- Fundraising and Events
At One Source - Empowering Caregivers we only provide non-medical support. If you are providing in home support you will be partnered with someone in Nevada County depending on similar interests and location. You don't need to have a history in caregiving just a willingness to learn!
Here at OSEC we would prefer if you can make a one year commitment! As a volunteer you will need a LiveScan Fingerprinting and a TB screening that OSEC will pay for.
This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity!
