About this role
The Managing Director of One Stone Ventures responsibilities will scale from highly strategic to very tactical—working with our current partner schools, improving our product offerings, and scaling our Growth Network. For example, a given day may include: coaching a partner school through college admissions with the growth network, outlining a 2-year plan for transitioning our products from prototype to full polish, facilitating professional development to teachers or parents, debugging bugs or issues, working with student interns to redesign our marketing site, and seeking funding opportunities. You will spend your days in close coordination with One Stone’s leadership team (reporting to the Executive Director) and testing out ideas at One Stone’s lab school. You will have the opportunity to uplift the power of student voice.
What you’ll do
- Strategy * Collaborate with the One Stone leadership team to create long- and short-term strategies for One Stone Ventures growth. Generate diverse revenue streams through sales, services, and grants. Iterate on market position and strategy of OSV’s products and services.
- Development * Connect with existing and potential partner schools, stakeholders, and thought leaders in competency-based learning. Develop strategic marketing campaigns, connective network experiences, and capture customer stories. Cultivate a leadership presence at conferences and networking opportunities.
- Product Management * Graduate the current products from prototype to full polish. Conduct research with partner schools and incorporate feedback.
- Leadership * Grow the team along with its initiatives. Set operational practices to guide a high-functioning team. Foster collaboration between the lab school and One Stone Ventures.
Key skills and qualifications
- Belief in the power of students
- 5 years of management and / or business development experience
- Track record of successfully leading and launching products and services
- Ability to generate and close consultative sales
- Drive to do things differently and help schools shift to an entirely new model for learning, coaching, and assessing
- Comfort with high-impact, fast-paced, highly collaborative work environment
Nice to haves
- Background and degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience raising money via venture capital, grants, or other means
- Experience in designing programming and facilitating to large groups
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. This role includes a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, and dental insurance, as well as paid time off (PTO).
Location
The ideal candidate will work in-person at our headquarters in Boise, Idaho. We are open to considering remote candidates, with the understanding that regular travel to Boise may be required. This position will require some travel to partner schools and conferences.
