Job Title: Electrical Superintendent
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to oversee field operations on our construction projects in Detroit, Michigan. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising electrical construction activities to ensure safe, timely, and profitable project completion.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise specific portions of electrical construction work for assigned areas of a project.
- Coordinate scheduling of electrical activities with subcontractors to confirm completion of contractual requirements.
- Maintain continuity of job progress and optimize efficiencies related to the assigned area.
- Oversight responsibilities include electrical panels, ductbanks, grounding, switchgear, transformers, low- and medium-voltage equipment, wiring, motors, heat tracing, instrumentation, calibration, loop checks, point-to-point checks, and electrical testing.
- Supervise overall construction effort, including safety, productivity, materials management, engineering, and contractual performance.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with project specifications and company policies.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project management to develop procedures, working documents, and standards.
- AUTHORIZE purchase requisitions and design change requests under supervision.
- Ensure overall project safety by reviewing and auditing site-specific safety documentation.
- Provide oversight of electrical installation, conduct tests, and verify instrument calibration.
- Complete daily reports and document construction progress.
- Assess future work activities and identify concerns with work plans.
- Develop marked-up and as-built drawings, answer RFIs, and direct subcontractor activity as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 7 years of construction management experience or craft supervision experience on electrical projects.
- Associate degree and 9 years of construction management experience or craft supervision experience on electrical projects.
- High school diploma/GED and 11 years of construction management experience or craft supervision experience on electrical projects.
- Excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills, and a strong safety background required.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to meet company driving requirements.
