One Tech Engineering is searching for a Senior Renewable HV Engineer for a position located in Phoenix, Arizona. The Senior Renewable HV Engineer will partner with a multi-discipline team to develop designs of electrical substations for renewable projects to support the safe and reliable delivery of electricity.
The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering degree and at least 7 years' experience.
Local candidates preferred or open to relocation. This is not a remote position.
Senior Renewable HV Engineer Responsibilities :
- Lead technical specifications development for large EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects, including development of project scope, schedule, and estimates.
- Assist Project Managers in bid evaluation and project planning.
- Lead design team from conceptual phase through completion and act as an Engineer-of-Record for large complex substation and gen-tie projects.
- Lead the preparation technical proposal including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Act as a technical liaison with clients, contractors, and vendors.
- Provide engineering support during construction including field inspections and witness tests.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers.
- Grow and manage relationships with clients.
- Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution.
- Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations including one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing / routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling.
- Perform QA / QC for deliverables to clients across multiple offices.
- Manage all schedule, budget, and quality of assigned projects.
- Providing support for our clients during construction.
- Performing field inspections and compliance documentation.
- Leading a team of single- or multi-discipline professionals to ensure project success.
- Coordinate with utilities and regulators for the interconnection process
- Corresponding and / or meeting with clients, contractors, and vendors.
- Advancing into leadership roles.
- Support business development and marketing initiatives
