Sr. Site Safety & Health Specialist Job Description
One Tech Engineering is seeking a Sr. Site Safety & Health Specialist for a heavy construction project in Nashwauk, Minnesota.
The successful candidate will lead and implement project-specific safety policies and procedures, providing professional safety leadership to the project management team.
The ideal candidate must be a US citizen or green card holder, with a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Construction Management, and 7 years of experience in construction safety, general industry safety, or construction management.
Responsibilities:
- Administer safety programs on field construction projects to ensure operations are executed as planned and conducted in a safe manner.
- Manage site safety program deliverables, responding to questions and/or concerns related to site-specific safety and health compliance issues.
- Ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal OSHA rules and regulations.
- Plan and oversee field activities, developing and approving Activity Hazard Analysis with project management.
- Provide support to eliminate health and safety violations, monitoring subcontractors to ensure a safe working environment.
- Manage safety programs to achieve and maintain the company goal of zero safety incidents.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Construction Management and 7 years construction safety experience.
- Or Associate Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Construction Management and 9 years construction safety experience.
- Or High School Diploma/GED and 11 years construction safety experience.
- MSHA 48 Trainer Certificate (valid/not expired).
- Familiarity with Zero Injury techniques of Construction Industry Institute.
- Knowledge of OSHA Construction and General Industry Regulations, ANSI, NIOSH, Army Corps of Engineers, and National Electrical Code Standards.
Must have: valid driver's license, ability to present and teach safety concepts, proficiency in Microsoft Office software, willingness to work various schedules at the project site location, and meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges.
