What are the responsibilities and job description for the Item Processor position at One United?
Handle daily in clearing files for check and ACH transactions. Assist in the disposition and balancing of branch capture, and remote deposit capture files and general ledgers. Process returned deposit items and treasury reclamations. Proper decision and settle exception items including stop payments, account number mismatch, and rejected transactions. Demonstrate good mathematical and analytical skills in order to identify out of balance conditions and potential loss exposure. This position requires good judgment, attention to detail and strong organizational skills to meet processing deadlines and to mitigate risk.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Essential job function :
- Monitoring, reconciling and processing of rejected ACH and in clearing check items.
- Balance related general ledger accounts.
- Process items within expressed time frames to mitigate risk and eliminate losses.
- Data entry / data tracking of rejected transactions.
- Perform research as required to resolve posting errors.
- Reconciliation of daily transactions and general ledger postings.
- Affidavit of Forgery-research and processing of incoming claims.
- Treasury reclamation review and process.
- Communicate with branch staff, finance department and customers.
- Prepare department reports detailing discrepancies and unresolved errors.
- Analyze bank records to provide information, validate transactions or determine sources of transactions.
- Perform related and other duties as assigned.
