We are seeking compassionate individuals to become Host Home Mentors in North Iowa, offering a safe and supportive environment for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a Host Home Mentor, you will open your home to an individual, assisting them with daily living activities, fostering independence, and promoting community involvement. This role requires a genuine desire to make a positive impact and a commitment to providing personalized care.
Location: Northern Iowa Region and includes the following counties: Worth, Floyd, Franklin, Cerro Gordo, Hancock, Humboldt, Kossuth, Webster and Wright.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 supervision and support to the individual residing in your home.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores.
- Support the individual in developing life skills and achieving personal goals.
- Facilitate community integration by encouraging participation in social and recreational activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and progress made. (Therap)
- Ensure the home environment is safe, clean, and conducive to the individual’s well-being.
- Ability to create nurturing environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 21.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor.
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and current registration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in social services is a plus.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and schedules.
- Ability to pass state and federal background checks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in caregiving or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
Compensation
- Host Home Providers are independent contractors and receive a monthly stipend to cover the cost of supporting individuals in their homes.
- The stipend amount varies based on the level of care provided and state regulations.
