Housekeeper
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Housekeeper/Custodian. This role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our luxury high-rise building. The ideal candidate will follow a daily checklist to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Restroom Maintenance: Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
- General Cleaning: Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean ashtrays and cigarette urns; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers.
- Event Setup: Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings and events.
- Floor Care: Strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealer and finish to hard surface floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
- Equipment Use: Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, including buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high-pressure washers, high-speed buffers, vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.
- Wall and Equipment Cleaning: Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments.
- Building Security: Lock and unlock assigned buildings; secure buildings when facilities are not in use, checking for unlocked doors and windows; report any unauthorized occupants; turn off lights.
- Chemical Use: Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed and follow Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Cleaning Activities: Perform cleaning and all related activities within and around the building.
- Furniture and Equipment Moving: Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an incidental basis.
- Window Washing: Wash accessible interior and exterior windows; launder cleaning rags and dust mops.
- Emergency Response: Attend to emergencies when necessary.
- Meeting Attendance: Attend safety meetings and other related meetings.
- Recycling and Inventory: Handle recycling materials and assist with inventory control and security.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate all vehicles and other job-related equipment.
