As leaders in the building of cellular telecommunications infrastructures, One Way Wireless Construction, Inc. is a one-stop contractor. Our expertise in installing, testing and maintenance makes us the reliable and highly tenured team our clients choose time and time again. One Way is looking for a Civil Foreman to work in its civil department. While this department does not climb, they play an essential role in the construction of a telecom site, laying the foundations and groundworks for the tower, electrical cabinets, ice bridge posts, access roads etc.
This is a traveling position (crew trucks are provided, applicants must only be able to commute to our shop) and applicants must be willing to spend a significant amount of time on the road driving to and from sites. OWWC will pay $150 for each night that an employee is out of town (anything 60 miles from our shop is eligible for per diem). Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the hourly wage after 40 hours a week, and it is not uncommon for crews to work 25 hours of overtime each week.
One Way Wireless Construction is located in Shakopee, MN. Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Shakopee or relocate to the area if that is not feasible. This position reports directly to the Project Manager associated with the site build.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operating equipment (Skid steer, Mini X, Trencher, etc.)
- Install infrastructure (Roads, Conduit, Foundations, Concrete, etc.)
- Site removal operations (Snow, Trees, Dirt)
- Restoration (Landscaping, Hydroseeding, sod)
- Communicate effectively with PM and crew on issues of safety and make sure that the crew understands the different components of the job
- Ensure that all safety regulations are adhered to and report any injury or mishaps promptly and properly
- Provide direction on crew conflicts and answer any questions pertaining to the job
- Understand and follow the job's blueprints to ensure that the final product is what the customer requested
- Travel with crew (company vehicle provided) to job locations
- Out of state and over night travel required
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds in all directions
- Ability to climb a ladder
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit and move around heavy equipment and machinery effectively
- Must be able to perform a variety of physically demanding tasks, and use multiple different power and hand tools in the process
- Must be willing and able to work in all types of extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
- Must be experienced in operating heavy equipment (Skid steer, Mini X, Trencher, etc.)
- Mechanical ability
- Knowledge and use of hand tools required
- Would prefer prior telecom civil experience
- Must be OSHA 10 certified
- Must have 5 years of prior construction experience
- Must pass a background check, drug test and DOT physical
