Overview
Tracking associates are responsible for the monitoring and communication of status events for shipments in transit. The Logistics team works in a fast-paced and pressured environment, communicating effectively with both colleagues and clients, to identify innovative solutions to their clients' most challenging needs.
Responsibilities
- General Shipment Tracking
- Ensure 100% shipments for managed routes are billed to OWL’s accounts using multiple sources and contacts to ensure completion(daily)
- Coordinate with internal department associates and outside vendors to correct as needed
- o Ensure 100% shipments for managed routes are consigned to the correct destination (per route requirements) through detailed comparison/review of addresses and shipment paperwork audit (daily)
- Communicate/Correct as needed
- oReview brokered carrier data sources for exceptions to defined routes (ex. Delays, Incorrect Addresses, Lost Freight)
- Work with brokered carriers to resolve potential issues (ex. misrouted freight)
- Communicate delays to the correct parties and respond accordingly to critical needs
- Notify correct parties about exception/delay
- Enter ETA/exception into the transportation management system
- Obtain acceptance of new ETA, or need time from correct party and coordinate appropriate action with internal department associates
- Brokered Carrier Service Disruptions / Embargoes
- Communicate with brokered carriers on reported terminal closures/delays/service impacts
- Create a log of all shipments / routes impacted by service disruption
- Communicate impacted shipments & updates to direct management
- Monitor shipments and update management at the required frequency (established by management depending on the severity of the disruption)
General Inquiries
- Promptly respond to requests for tracking information with thoughtful, helpful detail
- Consider/Include “Next Best Action” (when applicable)

Requirements
- BA/BS in Business/Transportation or Logistics (preferred).
- 3 years of operations/transportation logistics experience
- General knowledge of LTL industry (not required, but ideal)
- Enthusiasm for Transportation/Logistics
- Problem solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills, including dealing with difficult situations.
- Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office suite).
- Creative analytical skills.
- Maintain efficiency without compromising quality, safety or environmental standards
- Self-motivated and a great team player with a can-do attitude
- Able to juggle multiple tasks at once and meet deadlines under pressure

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
