What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Dispatch position at One World Logistics of America?
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (to include but not limited to):
- Monitors and assigns drivers on-board communication equipment and vehicles to convey freight
- Resolves routing issues, responsible for timely delivery of freight, cancellation resolutions, and monitoring driver performance
- Dispatch drivers according to published schedules utilizing transportation software and on-board communication systems in order to get freight moved in a timely manner within OWL service standards
- Familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures is critical as position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Performs a variety of complex tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight time constraints while maintain accuracy of inputs
- Interacts with Dispatch Supervisor, Operations Management, Senior Management, and drivers
- Communicate service failures regarding on-time or customer service targets with the Dispatch Supervisor, appropriate team members, and customers
- Monitors and directs daily dispatch activities of drivers, tractors, and trailers
- Accurately enters times of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of delivery
- Closely monitor transportation issues for delivery requirements in support of operational requirements
- Promptly respond to all customer requests with optimal customer service
- Review, scan and file paperwork as necessary
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations
- Exhibit safety awareness and competence with attention to detail
- Communicate and serve as a role model for policies and procedures enforcement
- Support and serve as a role model for OWL’s KPI’s of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale and Environment

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this position, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and/or hear.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Ability to effectively manipulate keyboard and mouse.
- Communicate clearly in-person and by telephone or other electronic means.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of transportation related work experience
- Proven problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Communicate clearly in-person and by telephone or other electronic means
- Excellent customer service skills, including dealing with difficult situations
- Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office suite) TMW software knowledge
- Knowledge of onboarding systems
- Creative analytical skills

Pay: $47,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
