Summary/Objective
The line cook is directly responsible for preparing food to the Chef’s exact specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the Executive Chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.
Essential Functions

- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follows Executive Chef instructions or Kitchen Manager if Chef isn’t available
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
- Conduct and complete any other duties requested by Senior Management or Human Resource Department

Physical Demands

The position requires working taste buds, ability to smell, feel with fingers and visually inspect, including close and distance vision. The position requires ability to use arms, hands and manipulate fingers to reach, stir, measure, pour, cut, chop, dice, decorate, etc.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear up to eight hours or more a day. The employee must occasionally lift or move kitchen products and supplies, up to 60 pounds at a time on a regular basis.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday with flexible hours assigned by Management. This position can regularly require long hours.
Required Education and Experience
- 4 years’ cooking and kitchen administration experience
- California Food Handler card
- Employee Health Certificate
