Position Summary
While working in a multi-entity environment, assist with financial statement preparation, weekly management reporting, inventory & cost of goods sold analysis, month-end close, bank reconciling items, etc. Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly general ledger close. Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly financial statements. Ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards. Provide assistance to manager with external audits. Assist with accounting related and general ledger projects. Assist with special projects assigned by management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform accounting functions as assigned including, revenue, cost of goods sold, cash, cash applied to A/R, and bad debt allowance on a monthly basis. Back-up month-end duties assigned to other Senior Accountants.
- Assists in preparation of weekly and monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including “Budget vs. Actual” variance reports. Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
- Assist with testing and receive final approval for system reports required for management, financial reporting and general ledger reconciliations.
- Coordinate and resolve various issues with bank such as cleared check differences, bank fee anomalies, targeted balance calculations and enhancements to online services.
- Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies & procedures.
- Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Maintain project log for Senior Accountant position.
- Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
- Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.
