What are the responsibilities and job description for the Steward position at One World Ventures?
- Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment.
- Communicates information to the Kitchen and General Manager whenever necessary, ensuring that information is disseminated through appropriate avenues.
- Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality of the products that are handled by you.

- Ensures the kitchen is kept clean and in excellent order.
- Housekeeping skills
- Sweep, mop, wipe tables and make sure our space is presentable.
- Soda Machine and condiment station is loaded and clean.
- Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.
- Sorts and stacks clean dishes. Carries clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas. Rewashes soiled dishes before delivering.
- Changes dishwater in dish machine at least every hour.
- Washes pots, pans, and trays by hand.
- Removes compost, recycling, and garbage to appropriate receptacles in refuse room.
- Breakdown cardboard boxes and remove to refuse room.
- Assists with receiving daily deliveries under supervision and direction of the kitchen lead. Daily deliveries may include dry goods, meat, produce, equipment, and supplies.
- Cleans the grease trap on and disposes of grease waste according to restaurant schedule and policy.
- Receives and organize linen deliveries in restaurant storage.
- Keeps hand washing sinks clean and stocked with hand soap and paper towels.
- Removes carpets and sweep or vacuum at designated times.
- Sets up and breaks down dishwashing area.
- Fills/empties soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
- Sweeps/mops floors.
- Assembles/disassembles dish machine.
- Sweeps up trash around exterior of restaurant and building common area.
- General restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
- Wipes up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry and clean.
- Notifies Manager anytime dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
- Never touch dirty dishes before touching clean dishes without washing hands first.
- Ensures equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following preventative maintenance procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
