Role Overview


The Controller is responsible for controllership and accounting functions, using sound fiscal management and general stewardship of resources. They will lead and manage the day-to-day accounting activities of the business and develop and maintain Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statement and regulatory reporting. This includes monthly, quarterly, and annual period-end closes, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, cash management, annual audit preparation, tax preparation and other accounting activities.


The Controller will be a collaborative, relationship-driven leader who engages with management, employees, external service providers, and stakeholders for One10. Must be located in the Minneapolis / St. Paul Area)


Scope of Work


  • Responsible for the daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial transactions of the business, as well as corporate accounting and consolidation, revenue, and audit/financial compliance for One10.
  • Assists the CFO in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Creates corporate financial reporting which includes the accuracy of the company's general ledger and its compliance with GAAP, IFRS, Stat.
  • Provides expert guidance on technical accounting matters, including implementation of revenue recognition policies, lease accounting, treasury instruments, business combinations and acquisition accounting, and solution area reporting.
  • Works directly in and own the General Ledger and possess an ability to analyze and evaluate financial information at the transaction, trial balance, and consolidated level.
  • Supervises and provides direction over cash receipt and disbursement functions.
  • Manages corporate compliance/regulatory requirements for contracts, law, banking, investments, etc.
  • Acts as a leader and liaison with FP&A and internal IT Systems teams to assist in all aspects of financial reporting including revenue reporting, financial review and solution area consolidation, process assistance, integration, ERP evaluation, etc.
  • Performs cash flow management activity, including transfers and wires; manages treasury functions, and works with FP&A to maintain and produce 13-week cash flow forecasts.
  • Prepares internal and external financial reports, and ensures that they are timely, accurate, and in compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements
  • Provides technical accounting support for mergers and acquisitions, including purchase price allocations, opening balance sheet entries, and integration of financial reporting processes.
  • Manages communication with the Executive team, CFO, and Board to ensure all regulatory requirements are met, emerging accounting literature is understood, and properly documented and implemented.
  • Summarizes findings on the monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in partnership with FP&A on reported results to present to senior management, external auditors, and regulators.
  • Partners with Finance in budget preparations and monthly budget / actual reporting analyses.
  • Develops internal control policies and procedures guidelines; maintains internal controls integrity and documentation for fiscal management of organization
  • Supports and assist with tax preparations and quarterly tax needs.
  • Develops, documents, implements, and maintains processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial data, ensuring best practices
  • Liaise with annual auditors and leads a smooth audit process with timely resolution of annual audit findings.
  • Supports various CFO, Finance & Controllership special projects as required or deemed necessary by Executive leadership.
  • Ensures accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end closes across all solution areas.
  • Leads both Project and corporate accounting.
  • Manages team towards efficient and value-added processes and interacts effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ensures team is staffed with qualified financial personnel capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities for their role.
  • Responsible for continued development of employees using goals, performance reviews, development planning, training and succession planning.
  • Manages third-party stakeholder relationships with banking/lending, private equity, insurers, auditors and other compliance partners
  • Examines and reviews company risk with department leaders.
  • Exhibits technical expertise in matters of accounting and compliance.
  • Investigates and shares research on high level, complex financial reporting issues and documents findings.
  • Active involvement in the due diligence, integration and other activities surrounding acquisitions/dispositions.
  • Fosters proactive process and procedure reviews and improvements by team as well as collaboration with finance team.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred
  • 12-15 years of experience (an accelerated career preferred)
  • Public accounting or project accounting experience preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite, Workday, or other leading ERP systems preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop and retain top financial talent coupled with the ability to build high performing teams
  • Proficient accounting knowledge and ability to collaborate with varying levels of the organization to drive sound business decisions
  • Ability to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand
  • Ability to evaluate financial information and prioritize executive reporting
  • Knowledge of federal and state level tax reporting
  • High level of pride-of-ownership, resourcefulness
  • Ability to multi-task, organize work, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines
  • Understanding of M&A accounting with demonstrated experience in integrating the financial aspect of acquisitions
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong desire for success in a fast-moving organization
