What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Assistant position at One80 Intermediaries?

As we continue to scale, we are seeking a talented Accountant - Claims Specialist who work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy working with large amounts of numerical data, handle multiple tasks with deadlines, and provide transparent and complete reports to management. You should have a firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and regulations and possess strong computer, verbal, and written communication skills.
Your Impact:
- Responsible for assisting with all cash applications into the Applied Management System pertaining to the premium trust on agency bill and direct bill.
- Day-to-day premium parts of the business
- Maintain agent carrier portals and retrieve statements and invoices
- Process wires, checks, e-pay payments
- Reconcile premium errors and adjustments on direct bill and agency bill
- Reconcile direct bill, collect on past due commissions, research, and handle billing adjustments
- Retrieve all return premiums for carriers and brokers
- Support Accounts Payables
- Assist with credit references, agency bill premium collections (30/60/90 day), premium financing, month-end accounting statements, commissions into the Applied System, all carrier statements and payables pertaining to agency bill, and discrepancies with carriers, brokers, and insureds.
Successful Candidates Will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills including Excel.
- Understanding of mathematics and accounting and financial processes.
- Ethical behavior and high attention to detail.
- Ability to work overtime as needed to achieve reporting deadlines.
- QuickBooks, Great Plains, Power BI, and CPA experience preferred.
- Occasional travel may be required.

At One80 Intermediaries, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings, paid time off and paid holidays for eligible employees. The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base pay range for this position is between $51,800 - $79,000 plus discretionary bonus. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
