The Sr. Actuarial Product (Data) Analyst provides dedicated support of the IT and Data systems used by Corporate Actuarial teams. This role leverages a combination of technical skills and business acumen to maintain the value of software systems that are key to Corporate Actuarial processes. The Sr. Actuarial Product (Data) Analyst will be a liaison between Actuarial, IT and Data teams to provide production support and maintenance of Actuarial database interfaces and data manipulation tools. This role will utilize skills and knowledge to provide timely support of production data input and output processes in line with Corporate Actuarial objectives. This role will operate as a subject matter expert as part of a team and is expected to perform duties and responsibilities independently with minimal supervision.

What you will do :

  • Support Actuarial Model Point File (MPF) build process (40% of time)

Partner with IT and Data to coordinate running of Data Ingestion Alteryx workflows and troubleshooting issues with workflows.

  • Partner with Actuarial & Data teams to coordinate generation of monthly and quarterly MPFs using Snowflake Alteryx process in timely manner.
  • Partner with Actuaries to understand any changes to Alteryx inputs and outputs and adjust ingestion and backfeed processes accordingly.
  • Work with Data & Actuaries to backfeed Alteryx output (MPFs and Historical Actuals) into Snowflake
  • Partner with Corporate Modeling, Valuation, Finance, IT, and Data teams to support Insurance Data Repository (IDR) (30% of time)
  • Lead efforts to keep Prophet model outputs in sync with IDR input needs

  • Act as liaison between dedicated IDR data developers, other Analysts, and Actuaries to ensure technical solution designs meet actuarial business needs
  • Partner with other Analysts, Data, IT, Actuarial, and FIS teams to implement any changes or upgrades to IDR
  • Partner with other Analysts, Data, IT, Actuarial, and FIS teams to ensure IDR outputs meet Snowflake input needs (e.g., for LDTI cohorting processes)
  • Partner with Modeling, FIS and internal IT teams to support cloud-based modeling system (PMCS) (15% of time)
  • Serve as liaison for all teams, leveraging technical skills and relationships to address PMCS issues

  • Communicate issues and notifications of environment changes with PMCS user group
  • Support Actuarial with data analysis (10% of time)
  • Use Alteryx and IDR in conjunction with other enterprise Data tools (e.g, Snowflake) to pull, analyze and report on business data

  • Update and maintain Actuarial Plan database processes used for Financial Plan (5% of time)
  • What you will need :

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years' experience working in data or systems analysis and visualization, model analysis, executing projects on time, preferably in insurance or financial services field
  • FLMI, ALMI or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, or other related certifications
  • Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
  • Salary Band : 06B

    This selected candidate will be expected to work Hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
