Data Governance Consultant | About You
As a Data Governance Consultant, you are responsible for driving the successful execution of data governance strategies and aligning them with business goals. You bring a deep understanding of data management principles and the ability to translate regulatory and compliance requirements into actionable frameworks. You collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to design policies, catalogs, and access controls. You are passionate about advancing data literacy and transparency across the enterprise. With your guidance, organizations can confidently scale their data initiatives and ensure long-term governance success.
Data Governance Consultant | Day-to-Day
- Design and implement scalable data governance frameworks that ensure data integrity, quality, and security across the enterprise.
- Operationalize governance by engaging business teams and SMEs in defining, cataloging, and stewarding data assets.
- Support data product initiatives by embedding governance principles throughout the development lifecycle.
- Establish and manage business data catalogs using tools like Collibra, promoting enterprise-wide adoption and consistency.
- Define and implement attribute-based access controls through policy-based security models to protect sensitive data.
- Lead ongoing training, communication, and stakeholder engagement efforts to ensure compliance and cultivate a data-first culture.
Data Governance Consultant | Skills & Experience
- 7 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Architecture, or a related role, with a focus on building and scaling governance frameworks.
- Deep knowledge of Informatica IICS (ETL/API), Collibra for data governance, Snowflake for data storage, and Power BI for data visualization.
- Strong understanding of data stewardship, including roles, responsibilities, and accountability within governance models.
- Demonstrated ability to define, enforce, and operationalize data policies related to access control, data quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with industry regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, with hands-on experience ensuring organizational alignment and adherence.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to align cross-functional teams around governance best practices.
