Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our property management team in Fresno, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain financial transactions in the accounting system, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts on a regular basis.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Process rent payments, late fees, and security deposits, and maintain accurate tenant account records.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments and proper documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of property expenses and income for each managed property.
- Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts for property management activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with the property management team to resolve tenant billing issues.
- Assist with preparing documents for tax filings and audits as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in the property management or real estate industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, AppFolio, Yardi, or similar systems).
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Occasionally lift and carry files or office supplies weighing up to 10 lbs.
Work Schedule
- Flexible part-time hours, approximately 16-20 hours per week.
