What are the responsibilities and job description for the Van Driver position at OneHeart?
Position Summary: It will be important that the Van Driver be supportive of OneHeart’s mission to build viable pathways out of poverty. Drivers will transport program participants to and from employment, childcare, nonprofit services, education, job interviews, government services and non-emergency medical needs. Drivers would also maintain the cleanliness of the van, including sanitization between transports. Service area will be limited to driving in the Rapid City area. This position is a part-time position with an average of 20 hours per week at $17.00 per hour; divided shift for one person—or will consider hiring two people, one for morning, and one for evenings/weekends for 10-15 hours per week. We need help getting children to school 7:00-8:15 AM, picking up groceries M/W/F, and transporting people to/from work weekday evenings 5:00-6:00 PM and weekends. This position reports to the OneHeart Transportation Coordinator.
Duties
1. Operating a 12-passenger van or mini-van
2. Transporting program participants to and from various pre-approved locations
Requirements
1. Must have a valid South Dakota Driver’s License
2. Must have a clean driving record
3. Must be insurable
4. Must be willing to undergo and pass a background check to include driving history
5. Must be knowledgeable in navigating the local service area
6. Must be a kind, genuine person who is dedicated to the OneHeart mission and truly wants to help people rebuild their lives
7. Retirees encouraged
