What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Technician position at Oneida County?
Oneida County is accepting applications to fill a full time Finance Technician position, located at the Timber Drive location of the newly created Oneida County Human Service Department. Oneida County Human Service is a Trauma Informed Agency that empowers, educates and supports agency staff to provide services in a caring, compassionate and safe environment.
JOB DUTIES: This position performs a variety of technical accounting, bookkeeping and office tasks related to keeping financial accounts and records. Duties also include serving the public, providing information, assisting in time keeping and expense reimbursement, and assisting the Financial Services Manager in developing the department budget.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified individuals must have two years post high school education in Accounting or related field. Work experience in accounting or information technology is strongly preferred. Applicants with additional related work experience in lieu of meeting post high school education requirements may be considered. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge in bookkeeping and accounting practices, is detail oriented, has excellent computer, typing and 10-key skills, is highly organized and has effective communication skills.
WAGES AND BENEFITS: Starting 2025 wage for this position is $25.13 per hour plus benefits including affordable health, dental and vision insurance, Wisconsin Retirement System benefits and a PTO (Paid Time Off) package with the ability to carry unused PTO into future years.
WORK HOURS AND SCHEDULE: Position works 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a half-hour unpaid lunch, with some flexibility provided as needed.
