Summary :
This position will focus on strategic development and operation of the Business Intelligence (BI) / data warehouse practice, including managing staffing requirements, optimizing processes and technology, and ensuring a high availability BI / data warehouse platform. The incumbent will collaborate with business executives and stakeholders across departments / Business Units (BU) to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support analytics solutions. These solutions will provide essential information to meet the BU's needs, enabling data-driven decision making.
Responsibilities :
- Align the Data Operation's vision / mission with the Oneida Nation's priorities and values by establishing specific and measurable operational level goals and objectives.
- Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new information technologies, particularly in the areas of BI, analytics, and data warehousing
- Ensure the efficient utilization of data resources across different business units of the Oneida Nation
- Manage the lifecycle of Data Warehouse projects and reporting tools, including data sourcing, migration, quality, and performance tuning
- Participate as a team member on multi-department projects that affect your area of responsibility through planning, assessing, developing, implementing, and measuring the project tasks
- Ensure data governance integrity
- Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of BI / data warehousing systems, including data architecture, data integration, high availability, security, and data privacy
- Evaluate new hardware and software solutions as it relates to business unit needs.
- Keep abreast of new technologies and developments in the IT industry
- Act as a liaison between DTS and BU's, assessing data extraction, report generation, and troubleshooting issues related to data storage systems
- Supervise, assign duties to, and coordinate the activities of staff to include evaluations, scheduling, disciplinary actions, hiring, training, orientation, approving KRONOS, and employee motivation
- Maintain strict departmental security, confidentiality, and quality to meet professional standards of the department
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by conducting research, attending seminars, educational workshops, classes, and conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies; conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations to stay abreast of business unit needs
