Due to our increase in scope and services, O'Neill Healthcare hospice is looking for a hospital liaison to increase and assist admissions. Hospital Liaison – Job Description & Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Establish and Maintain Relationships – Develops and nurtures positive working relationships with current and potential referral sources, including hospitals, physicians, hospice, and palliative care providers.
- Community & Customer Perception Management – Builds and monitors community, customer, and patient perceptions of O'Neill Healthcare brands as a high-quality provider of services, including hospice and palliative care.
- Strategic Planning Contribution – Supports organizational strategic planning by identifying opportunities for additional or improved services to meet customer needs, with a focus on hospice and palliative care integration.
- Market Knowledge & Analysis – Maintains a comprehensive understanding of O'Neill Healthcare markets, including government agencies, major payer groups, key referral sources, hospice and palliative care trends, and competitor market positioning.
- Facilitating Admissions – Assists facility staff with admission paperwork and insurance verifications, ensuring a smooth transition for hospice and palliative care patients.
- Marketing & Event Coordination – Assists in planning and attending after-hours marketing events, networking functions, and community outreach programs.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, marketing, business, communications, or a related field (preferred).
- 2 years of experience in healthcare marketing, business development, admissions, or community outreach.
- Experience in hospice, palliative care, long-term care, skilled nursing, or hospital systems is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Relationship Building – Strong ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with referral sources, including hospice and palliative care professionals.
- Communication Skills – Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Sales & Marketing Acumen – Knowledge of healthcare marketing strategies, referral development, and patient acquisition, particularly in hospice and palliative care.
- Strategic Thinking – Ability to contribute to organizational growth by identifying opportunities for service expansion and improvement in hospice and palliative care.
- Insurance & Admissions Knowledge – Familiarity with healthcare insurance policies, verification processes, and admissions procedures, including hospice and palliative care coverage.
- Event Planning & Public Relations – Experience coordinating and attending marketing events, networking functions, and community outreach initiatives.
- Market Analysis – Understanding of healthcare market trends, major payer groups, competitor positioning, and regulatory agencies related to hospice and palliative care.
- Organization & Time Management – Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in Technology – Familiarity with CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic health records (EHR) systems Point Click Care (PCC).
