JOB SUMMARY
Job Profile Summary
The Consultant III - Digital Communications is a hands-on leader responsible for driving the development, execution, and continuous improvement of digital communications strategies and tactics across ONEOK’s digital platforms.
This role serves as a key advisor and executor of digital communications best practices and ensures the organization’s voice, tone, and brand are consistently and effectively represented.
This position requires an experienced strategist and strong writer with a passion for data-driven decision-making, community engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to support ONEOK’s brand, reputation, and protect its license to operate. The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of experience in social media strategy, digital communications, and brand management.

Key Responsibilities
Social Media Content & Execution
  • Lead the day-to-day development and execution of ONEOK’s social media content to increase brand visibility, engagement, and audience growth.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to create compelling, on-brand, value creating and timely written and visual (photo and video) content for social platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, and emerging platforms.
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines, voice, tone, and accessibility standards.
  • Stay ahead of digital content trends to introduce new content formats and creative approaches to storytelling.
  • Develop and maintain an editorial calendar – via Sprout Social - that aligns with organizational/business priorities, campaigns, and industry trends, serving as a key input for the broader integrated content calendar.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder and advisor in the development and growth of ONEOK’s digital and social media strategy.
Daily Community Management & Engagement
  • Oversee daily social media community management, including proactive engagement with followers, responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and brand-aligned manner.
  • Build and nurture online communities to foster positive brand sentiment and deepen relationships with key audiences.
  • Serve as the organization's voice on social platforms, ensuring all interactions are professional, empathetic, and aligned with brand guidelines.
Monitoring & Insights
  • Leverage social listening tools (e.g., Brandwatch, Sprout Social) to monitor brand mentions, industry trends, and competitor activity.
  • Benchmark ONEOK against our sector and best-in-class companies to measure and make recommendations.
  • Identify and escalate reputational risks, emerging issues, and crisis situations, providing thoughtful recommendations for response.
  • Actively track and analyze social media trends and platform updates to inform strategy and recommend innovative approaches.
Proactive Reporting & Analytics
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of social media campaigns and engagement efforts.
  • Provide regular, data-driven performance reports with insights and actionable recommendations to improve engagement, reach, and ROI.
  • Utilize social media analytics to inform content strategy, audience targeting, and budget allocation.
Digital Channel Management – Website, Digital Properties
  • Serve as Comms/CI point of contact for website updates.
  • Keep homepage and other key website destinations regularly refreshed, with the latest news and information.
  • Lead DAM system onboarding and maintenance
  • Play key role in development of new digital platforms, including website refreshes (e.g. storytelling site).
Production – Events and Video
  • Lead production and planning of video-based content for digital channels (e.g. social media videos and campaigns)
  • Lead technical production and planning of company events (e.g. Town Halls, State of the Company)
  • Play key role in strategy, content, and execution of live events, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and agency partners.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner with ONEOK internal and external partners to promote company initiatives, campaigns, and employer branding efforts.
  • Provide guidance and strategic counsel and offer strategic input during cross-functional team discussions.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external vendors and agency partners related to social media tools, services, and creative support, including managing end-to-end production.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in social media strategy, digital communications, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience with social media tools (e.g., Brandwatch, Sprout Social, Hootsuite) and analytics platforms.
  • Proven success in growing and engaging online communities through content strategy, brand voice, and active participation (e.g. responding to comments, etc.)
  • Experience in creative tools (Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, etc.) a plus.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment that ultimately delivers outcomes.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and brand alignment in all deliverables.
  • Comfort working with senior leaders and cross-business functions to develop and execute communication strategies.
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity and be agile with change, adapting to shifting business priorities as needed.
  • Experience working collaboratively and gaining buy-in through multiple layers of approvals.
