DESCRIPTION of Gas Processing Plant and Gathering Operations Engineer
**Job Summary**
A gas processing plant and gathering operations engineer is responsible for performing duties related to design, construction, operation, and maintenance of gas processing plants and gathering systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with electrical failure and control system analysis, knowledge of industry standards and governmental regulations, and proficiency in programming PLC's and other instruments.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Direct, perform, and/or approve engineering activities relative to design of company processing plant and gathering pipelines.
- Analyze and evaluate various plant systems and make recommendations for improvements related to capacity, operating costs, and system operation.
- Perform calculations related to project, investment, and operational cost estimates; determining electrical requirements and enhancements; and conducting studies relative to process control.
- Coordinate projects among departments, producers, and contractors including bid proposals and contracts, operational problems, material specifications and selection, and communications systems.
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with major in electrical/electronics preferred.
- 5 years of experience with and thorough knowledge of processing plants and related facilities design, construction, operation, and maintenance projects.
- Experience with electrical failure and control system analysis and thorough knowledge of industry standards and governmental regulations.
- Proficiency in programming PLC's and other instruments such as AB, GE, Fanue, Fisher ROC, Westinghouse, WonderWare, Fisher Delta V, etc.
**Working Conditions**
- Employee is subject to inside environmental conditions, well-lighted, climate-controlled areas with frequent repetitive motion.
- Travel to other locations and job sites required, including driving a company vehicle requiring an applicable driver's license.
