JOB SUMMARY
ONEOK is looking for an IT Applications Manager with a minimum of 5-10 years of midstream or related energy experience. We are looking for an individual with the experience and skills to lead an IT Applications team that supports the Gas Measurement business unit and the applications they depend upon, such as Quorum FLOWCAL and TESTit, Autosol ACM, and various custom-built reports and solutions.
The ideal candidate should be able to coach and mentor direct reports, supporting their growth and career development to help them increase their impact. They must consistently support the staff through regular, actionable feedback, including constructive criticism. This includes ensuring that each member of the team understands expectations for their level and how they are performing against them. They must be supportive of lateral moves to broaden the scope of a team member's impact and growth despite the loss of not having them in the team.
As manager, this role will be accountable for the team, do the right thing for the company, and be able to balance necessary conversations with empathy and respect. They must be responsible for creating and protecting an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. They must also facilitate the team's successful delivery, keeping everyone on track and helping them to navigate or remove blockers. This includes communicating clear direction and stretch goals for the team while setting them up for success in achieving them. It is also expected that the manager would cover for the team as project manager when needed and ensure that meetings or ceremonies are effective.
The ideal candidate must excel at communications, be able to facilitate the open exchange of ideas, and encourage team members to share their views, thoughts and feelings. This must be done in a way to foster a culture where it is safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and be vulnerable without consequence. It is also expected that as manager, they can land proper messaging about department-wide or company-wide initiatives, and organizational changes, ensuring that the team understands the reasoning, can move things forward positively and be resilient to change.
As manager, they must be able to prioritize work effectively in alignment with strategic direction of the team, department, and company. They will be expected to identify short- and medium-term opportunities, ensuring technical and strategic alignment by influencing the work and strategic direction the team is taking.
Remote candidates will be considered, but the selected candidate will be expected to regularly travel to our corporate office in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
This position is eligible for remote work in one of the following states : Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, or Wyoming. This position will require some travel for office meetings, as needed, to our corporate office in Tulsa, OK.
Job Profile Summary
Oversees IT service delivery for one or multiple business applications, including identification and prioritization of work requests, managing development resources, and ensuring agreed upon service levels are met.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct employees working with a specific business application or group of applications. Ensures issues are prioritized, assigned and resolved as needed. Communicate IT activities to business process owners and coordinate activities across teams as needed
- Oversee supervisors and individual contributors engaged in design, development and maintenance activities for IT business applications. Consult with other IT and business personnel to ensure proper controls are designed into the solution for appropriate levels of reliability.
- Provide input to IT strategic planning process. Develop tactical plans for applications based on overall strategies.
- Consult with business process owners on potential and existing technology solutions, including recommendations for process improvements, project planning, and resource allocations. Participate in and lead steering teams as needed
- Ensure company technical and development standards are met and appropriate communication channels are in place for infrastructure team.
- Manage small to medium software implementation and update projects
- Collaborate with other IT work groups when resources (hardware, software or people) are required outside the team
- Direct activities of a development team including budgeting (expense and capital) and providing financial and personnel updates to impacted business leaders on a frequent basis
- Interact with business users via consulting and training to ensure effective use of technology solutions
- Maintain tactical and strategic relationships with key software and service vendors
