Job Summary

Are you ready to gain hands-on experience in the field of measurement and regulation? Then join us as a Measurement Technician Intern at ONEOK, Inc. this summer! This entry-level position is designed to provide you with the foundational skills and knowledge necessary to support our measurement functions while upholding ONEOK’s core values of safety, integrity, and innovation.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist in the installation, testing, calibration, repair, and maintenance of various types of flow meters, regulator settings, telemetering systems, electronic flow computers, odorant systems, and relief valves.
  • Support measurement, sampling, and regulation operations and maintenance at our facilities.
  • Help calibrate and maintain test instrumentation and auxiliary equipment.
  • Interact effectively with measurement personnel and adhere to corporate measurement procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, including job orders, completion reports, meter and regulator installation/removal, equipment and operational tests, repairs, maintenance, DOT compliance reports, sample reports, and batch tickets.
  • Witness meter calibrations as per contractual obligations.
  • Respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions to prevent injury to self and others.

What You Need:

  • Currently enrolled in a certificate or degree program in a related field.
  • Training and/or experience in meter testing and installation, regulating flow and pressure, and servicing/repairing measuring station equipment is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of measurement and regulation equipment.
  • Ability to use, maintain, and repair tools and equipment used to regulate the flow of gas.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Effective communication skills for exchanging written and verbal information and instructions.
  • Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders and operate on elevated work surfaces.
  • Capability to work in confined areas and react immediately to emergency situations.
  • Willingness to travel over uneven terrain, including mud, gravel, sand, rocks, ice, and/or snow.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

  • Assist in a wide range of responsibilities inclusive of job shadowing, preparing reports, analyzing data, learning about various operational, technical, and/or business-related compliance, regulatory, and/or technical components.
  • Assist with development of presentations, trainings, knowledge sharing, and/or other administrative responsibilities
  • Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.

Education

  • The candidate should be currently pursuing a certificate or degree relevant to the internship field
