What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delaware County Lead Organizer position at OnePA?
The Delaware County Lead Organizer will be part of One PA's organizing department and will work with a team of Southeastern PA based organizers to lead our basebuilding program in Delaware County. The Delaware County lead organizer will work with the Philadelphia and Allegheny County lead to manage various member engagement initiatives and grassroots campaigns, developing and leading bold, sophisticated, and integrated issue campaigns to grow our members' power across Pennsylvania. The Delaware County Lead Organizer will have the opportunity to engage in various policy issues, working with several statewide coalitions and groups of advocates. The Delaware County Lead Organizer will assist in supervising and supporting chapter organizers to build mulit-issue, place-based chapters. They will be the main eyes and ears on the ground in targeted areas throughout Delaware County.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a working class, base-building organization carrying out membership recruitment, campaign development and supervision. They will have an understanding of environmental justice, systemic inequities, a commitment to social justice, and relevant lived experience. They will have a collaborative spirit to work with the other departments at One PA. Reports To: Organizing Director
Responsibilities:
Trains and supports up to 3 chapter organizers through daily check ins and debriefs
Develops, implements and leads campaigns
Leads research to move campaigns forward
Leads coalition work and delegates representation to coalition tables
Develops the leadership skills of organizers and member leaders
Performs outreach through flyering, door-to-door canvassing, phone calls text messages, and social media
Plans and executes large member actions such as delegations, rallies, or marches
Implements leadership development and political education plan
Tracks leadership in digital databases
Charts and analyses membership and community involvement
Works collaboratively with One PA's political, operations, civic engagement, development and communications departments.
Qualifications
Experience:
2 years of base-building experience in community or labor organizations as paid staff or
3-4 years of experience as a core volunteer of a base building organization with volunteer management experience
Experience building deep relationships and developing leaders who have taken ownership of their organization
Strong written and oral communications skills
Proven ability to work independently and proactively
Workshop design skills and meeting facilitation skills
Experiences and familiarity with different tools for consensus and democratic decision making
Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects and deadlines
High degree of emotional awareness and excellent listening skills
Excellent ability in use of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and comfort with cloud based technology for use of database for tracking membership and events and work management software

Access to and operating a car is required. Willingness to travel and the ability to competently navigate the city is required. Occasional opportunities to travel across the state or country for training or with members can be reasonably expected. One Pennsylvania provides mileage reimbursement at the Federal rate, per diem and lodging when working away from home. Ability to work hours exceeding stated office hours to get the job done; ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends when necessary. Physical requirements include walking outdoors year round for multiple hours at a time, climbing stairs, and the ability to lift 25 pounds. The position will be based in either Philadelphia or Delaware Counties and will be a hybrid work environment.
Compensation
The salary for this position will be $70,000. Benefits package includes a fully paid health insurance plan optional 401K with a generous employer match after 6 months. Professional development opportunities. Generous paid time off allowances.
