Production Control Parts Ordering Specialist - Plant

Location : North Alabama

Salary range : DOE ($)

Job Description :

General Summary : Responsible to assisting with all functions of the Production Control department. Support activities related to production scheduling, part forecasting, kanban inventory management system, and planning direct responsibilities include weekly parts order, cycle counts, support creating of weekly freight delivery schedules, part expediting / delivery and support the creation of Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders and keying of Daily Scrap tags (as needed)

Essential Job Functions :

Communicate with suppliers regarding goods and services for current and new models
Support activities related to product launch, model changes and ECI / ECN implementation activities.
Manage supplier kanban system.
Support shipping and receiving activities (as needed.)
Complete requisitions for appropriate approvals and accounting numbers.
Work closely with Production Control department team members to ensure qupplies and parts arrive at planned.
Trace (expedite) delinquent arrivals for all supplier purchase orders and / or part ordering manifests.
Mitigate expedite shipments to limit company exposure and impact to annual profit plan.

Education :

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience :

4 years of Production Control experience in a manufacturing facility required. Automotive environment preferred. Tier 1 experience a plus.

Experience in working with MRP, MES and parts ordering system and applications.

Experience in Automobile launch systems and requirement preferrd.

Previous exposure to a multicultural office environment preferred.

Personal / Technical Skills :

Basic shop math ability required (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Basic math and analytical skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural work environment.

Ability to maintain on call flexibility to control abnormal conditions.

Ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision

Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering documents, such as automotive3 drawings.

Must be able to work a fixed or rotating shift schedule, including daily or weekend overtime.

Strong organization, time management, and planning skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.

Language Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. (Japanese or Spanish language skills are plus.)

Computer / Software :

Solid working knowledge and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes / Outlook, Internet, etc.).

Solic working knowledge of MRP (Oracle, SAP, etc.), Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Parts Ordering Platforms.
