Job Description: We are seeking an experienced maintenance technician to oversee and execute unit and site maintenance at Onera Fredericksburg. Unlike typical hotel chief engineer roles where the chief engineer delegates to a team, in this position, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for executing and planning maintenance tasks themselves and coordinating with maintenance vendors due to limited staffing. Living onsite (Free staff housing & utilities) or living within 30 minutes drive is a requirement for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Execute daily preventative and as-needed maintenance
- Plan maintenance schedules & log activities for record-keeping
- Create and follow maintenance SOPs
- Track and maintain supplies, tools, parts, etc. inventory
- Perform regular inspections of all resort facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces, to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems as needed, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
- Manage and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for maintenance activities, ensuring that all resources are used efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborate with external contractors and vendors as needed for specialized maintenance tasks or projects, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies related to maintenance and environmental sustainability, and incorporate these into maintenance strategies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- (Required) Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, with a demonstrated track record of success in a management role (management of facilities, not necessarily colleagues).
- (Required) Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other systems commonly found in hotel environments.
- (Preferred) Various certifications that speak to the individual's skillsets and experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly diagnose and address maintenance issues as they arise.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to respond to maintenance emergencies or other urgent situations.
