OneSchool Global is seeking a dynamic and creative Student Support Assistant / Special Needs Paraprofessional for our Minneapolis Campus (located in Lakeville)! The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting students who have additional nees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide physical assistance, including lifts and transfers, to ensure the student's mobility and comfort.
- Assist with feeding and other daily living activities.
- Facilitate communication using the student's augmented device.
- Teach English and Math curricula as developed by a certified teacher.
- Collaborate with the local team to address the student's needs and support inclusive instruction.
- Maintain accurate records of the student's progress and activities.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in education, special education is an asset.
- Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities.
- Familiarity with augmented communication devices is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and transferring.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the student's educational and personal development.
