What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at OneSource Staffing?
Our client, a growing manufacturing company seeks an experienced Production Manager or their acility. In this role you will perform the following duties:
· Deploy the business plan and goals to the shop floor.
· Ensures all targets for key performance indicators are met including goals for safety, product quality, output, product yield, regrind usage, on time delivery, and uptime.
· Reviews production schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations to achieve company goals.
· Maintains the highest level of morale and employee support.
· Maintains the highest level of safety among all production activities.
· Schedules production personnel and otherwise ensures continuous operation during all scheduled days of operation.
· Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
· Inspects machines and equipment to ensure a safe working environment, required operational performance, and optimum utilization.
· Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and audits workers to ensure compliance with standards.
· Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
· Assists with the hiring process of all department personnel.
· Participates with others in team improvement projects (Kaizen) and other improvement activities (Lean).
This individual will manage subordinate supervisors who supervise employees on 10-hour shifts. They are responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the shift. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university, preferably along with a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
