Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Logistics with forward planning of the Maritime Order and Delivery Schedule for inbound and outbound inventory movement at our 3PL warehouse to our spas on board cruise ships
- Manage and oversee the movement of spa supplies and retail inventory from suppliers to the 3PL Warehouse for both bulk inventory receiving and cross dock shipping
- Manage and give tactical direction to the 3PL warehouse to ensure achievement of cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness of supply chain objectives
- Ensure supply chain deliverables and milestones are met inclusive of on-time ordering and shipping schedule dates
- Develop and track KPIs for the distribution and freight process
- Work with the team to minimize supply chain disruptions, reduce shipment delays, and eliminate additional emergency shipping
- Recommend optimal transportation modes and routing options to increase frequency, improve shipment consolidations, and minimize costs
- Optimize container utilization for sea freight to minimize the need for air freight
- Direct all inbound and outbound domestic shipping including imports and exports
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics, shipments, or deliveries
- Ensure carrier policy compliance with order handling, packing, labeling, shipping, and delivery
- Participate in carrier management processes such as agency selection, qualification, or performance evaluation
- Assist in pricing negotiations with nominated carriers and 3rd Party transportation providers
- Maintain relationships with 3PL providers, Freight Forwarders, and Worldwide Port Agencies
- Coordinate stock movements between vessels in port and reverse logistics to the warehouse
- Maintain import and export regulatory compliance with all federal, state, and international guidelines, including but not limited to Customs, FDA, or equivalent
- Prepare commercial documents as needed for Customs and FDA clearance
- Review, code, and approve freight invoices for accounts payable processing
- Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders including Directors of Operations
- Train purchasing and logistics personnel in responsibilities regarding global logistics supply chain
- Supervise logistics staff to ensure vessel itineraries are accurately maintained in the database
- Other duties as required by the Director of Logistics
Qualifications
Financial Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Certification focusing on Logistics & Supply Chain Management
- Five years of experience working in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations
- Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory, distribution, business, and management principles
- Exceptional organizational, attention to detail, and analytical skills
- Prioritization and time management skillsto meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills and attention to detail
- Proficient Computer Skills, including Excel, Word, Power Point
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must be willing to work on call (remotely) on weekends or holidays
