- Guest Claims: Review and respond to guest claims for OneSpaWorld. Create files and gather information per the claim checklist. Finalizes claims promptly by completing research or requesting further information from providers, claimants, other departments, and relevant parties. Negotiate claim settlements.
- Crew Claims: Review and respond to crew claims. Create files and gather information per the claims checklist to evaluate the claim and determine if maintenance and cure benefits are owed, and the status of the same. Process claims by requesting further information from providers, claimants, or other relevant parties to approve or deny the claim. Consult with health providers to determine the medical standing of the claimant and reimburse expenses and maintenance payments. Negotiate settlements.
- Existing Claims: Continually review for accuracy and updates records as new information is presented. Responsible for managing pending files and creating correspondence relating to claims. This includes reaching out to various departments if additional information is required as part of the claim investigation and includes recommendations for proactive safety measures to mitigate future losses.
- Reporting: Monthly processing of reports to determine if any proactive measures are necessary based on the completed report.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of Claims experience and/or Customer Service experience.
- 5 years of Cruise Line Claims experience and/or Cruise Line Customer Service.
- Knowledge of claims-adjusting techniques.
- Knowledge of claims-adjusting techniques.
- Ability to use computers and software to manage claim files.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions, maintain composure under stress.
- Experience evaluating merits of claims for liability and defense.
- Experience establishing financial reserves for defense and settlement costs.
- Excel in written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in EXCEL spreadsheets
- Able to work independently.
- Able to work in a fast- paced environment.
- Adapts well to change.
- Manages sensitive data and privacy.
- Maintains confidentiality of information.
